I'm it

I've been tagged for the first time..by Lynilu.!

1. When did you first start blogging and why?
My sister started a pregnancy blog for my nephew who is now 7 months old...I loved the concept so much that I wanted one too! She has a lot pics on her blog (although not lately because her computer is down). I mostly wanted to vent about waitressing on my blog.

2. What don't you talk about?
Well, I don't reveal a lot. One of the reasons is that I am kind of afraid some people that I don't want to read certain things will read it, so I hold back a lot. It's not a completely anonymous blog for me, so I pick and choose what I talk about...Which sometimes is not very therapeutic, but oh well. I'm also too worried about what other people think, which is one of my biggest problems that I struggle with in other aspects of my life. I worry that I might bore people, or that when I want to be funny or amusing, others won't find me funny or amusing. (I really do care too much about what people think..Just writing this made me realize that! Hmmm maybe this is therapeutic!)

3. Are you and your blogging persona that same person?
Yes, but the blogging persona is only a tiny glimpse of who I am.

4. How to use blogging to build friendships?
Writing is such a great tool to get to know someone deep down inside (unless they're like me and don't reveal everything!) I also like to read other blogs so that I know there are others out there who may be feeling the same way I am (about wanting children, waitressing, etc.)

5. How would you describe your writing style?
I like to be sarcastic..and I am also obsessive when it comes to spelling, grammar and punctuation!

Now if only there was someone else I could pass this on to...

Hey,RO, I just spent some time browsing and reading some of your past posts, and I have something I want to say. In one of your posts you mention that you'd like to get a BA but want to aboid debt of loans. I don't blame you on that. Here's my suggestion (and what I did while getting my degree): Take one or two classes at a time.I know it seems like it will take forever, but there are lots of pluses. No racked up debt. Your focus on study will be less jumbled and less stressful. You may meet a man that is worth meeting (and if you don't, take another class!!) Also, quit carrying that cash around with you! If you would toss all that extra tip money into a jar, you'll be surprised how it adds up. *That* just might add up to the tuition for a class, and you'd be a double lucky and smart woman! If you want a change in your life, MAKE IT HAPPEN!! But *you* have to take that 1st step. You go, girl!

PS - I forgot to say that I started college ... did you get that? I *started* college ... when I was 36 or 37. I worked while going to school. I took evening classes or went on my lunch hour. I still had kids at home, a husband (who helped, but I had responsibility to him, too)and I needed to work. I was able to work part-time for one year, and we pulled in our belts so I didn't have to work when I went on to graduate school for a year, because I took an accelerated course to finish in the 1 year. It was very hard. It was worth it. And if you want to do grad school, that can be part time, also. Don't forget that there are universities that offer classes at odd times for people like you and me. Weekend classes (I know, not good for a waitress, but maybe one weekend off is worth it to complete a class quickly) and internet classes. There are tons of options out there. Check them out. Good luck! I'll be watching!!

Actually lynilu, I called the transfer advisor from my community college (9 years ago) and he said that my credits should still be transferrable! And I was doing a little research online..I might be able to get a "continuing studies" scholarship or grant! My GPA was a 3.74, so that still counts!
Anyway, thanks for all of your words of wisdom and encouragement..It means a lot to me! :)
